Collingwood 2012 Blues Series
On Thursday, May 17, Collingwood 2012 Blues Series will be taking place at the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Centre (163 Hurontario Street, Collingwood). This Thursday Shawne Jackson & David McMorrow will be taking the stage as part of this monthly series. Shawne started his singing career in the church choir and has been in several significant groups; “The Tiaras” and “Shawne & Jay Jackson & the Majestics”.
The concert is from 7-9pm and tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. If you have a 2012 Jazz & Blues Society membership, tickets are $13. Seating is limited don’t miss out, get your tickets early.

Championship Series: Update
The Alliston Hornets once again find themselves in a “do or die” situation. The Grimsby Peach Kings lead the championship series of the Schmalz Cup Finals, 3 games to 1 against the Alliston Hornets. Game three of the series was tied 1-1 going into the overtime period in Alliston. It only took 58 seconds into the overtime period for Kyle Montpetit to score the winning goal for the Hornets. Putting the series at 2-1 for Grimsby. Game four was in Grimsby with another close scoring game, 3-2 score for the Peach Kings.
Game five of the series is on Wednesday, May 2 in Alliston at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre at 7:30 p.m. If the Hornets win game five, game six will be played Friday night in Grimsby at the Peach Kings Centre at 7:30 p.m. If you can’t make it to the game, follow the Alliston Hornets on Twitter for up to the minute updates from the game. @AllistonHornets.

Championship Series Begins Tonight!
The Alliston Hornets came back from 3-0 in the semi final series against Campbellford Rebels to win on Tuesday night 4-2 to finish off the series 4-3. The Schmalz Cup finals start’s tonight at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre at 7:30pm. For the second year in a row the Alliston Hornets will be facing the Grimsby Peach Kings. The Grimsby Peach Kings played strong throughout their playoff series with a 16-1 record. Alliston comes into the finals with a 20-6 record.
Tickets are $11 for adults, $9 for seniors and student sand $6 for children 12 and under. They’re on sale before the game at the customer service kiosk at the recreation centre. Game 7 of the Semi Finals
The Alliston Hornets were down 3-0 in the semi finals series and made a miraculous come back tying the series at 3-3. In game 5, the Hornets won 8-3 against the Campbellford Rebels.
Game 6 in Campbellford on Sunday night, the Alliston Hornets won 5-4 in overtime. Cole Parker scored 2:45 minutes into the overtime period to put the Hornets into game 7.
Game 7 is tonight at 7:30pm at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex, giving the Hornets home ice advantage. The winners of tonight’s game will be advancing to the Schmalz Cup finals against the defending champion Grimsby Peach Kings. Hornets Still Alive!
Wednesday night it was “do or die” for the Alliston Hornets in the semi finals against the Campbellford Rebels. The Rebels were leading the series 3 games to 0 before Wednesday night’s game. On home ice advantage, the Hornets came out strong, defeating the Rebels 6-1!

The Campbellford Rebels lead the Semi Final series 3 games to 0 against the Alliston Hornets. In Clarence Schmalz Cup the Campbellford Rebels won game one 4-1, game two 4-2 and game three 7-1.

Easter Egg Hunt- Collingwood
Saturday, April 7th from 11:00am to 3:00pm, come to Collingwood’s Downtown Great Easter Egg Hunt! Pick up your Easter Egg Hunt form at the activity centre in front of Town Hall and count the eggs that have been hidden in store windows throughout the downtown. Prizes will be handed out for boys and girls in four age categories, up to 12, so be sure not to miss counting any of the hidden eggs! Keep your eyes open for the Easter Bunny too as he will have treats for kids of all ages. Don’t forget to make an Easter craft to take home.

Alliston Hornets VS. Campbellford Rebels
The Alliston Hornets defeated the Walkerton Hawks in game five of the quarter finals Wednesday, March 28th at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex. The Hornets won 5-4 in a very exciting and close game as the Walkerton Hawks were leading 4-1 heading into the third period.
The Hornets start the semifinals tonight at 7:30pm against the Campbellford Rebels. Game two of the series is in Alliston at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex on Thursday, April 5th at 7:30pm. Quarter Final Update!
The Alliston Hornets lead the quarter final series 3-1 against the Walkerton Hawks heading into game five. The Hornets won 4-2 on Saturday night in Walkerton.
